Started as an occupational therapy after retirement, brewing beer as a born Belgian became self-evident. But who would have thought that I would have almost no time for that. Diving, filming, traveling and many other things take up all my free time.
Nevertheless, brewing started in 2013, because beer brewing and tasting was always my "thing".
Mecheleir became the current name, made in the different types as there are so many varieties in the Belgian beer world. In the beginning a bit difficult and not always perfect but the winner wins. After a few "received" recipes, the step was taken to completely own recipes. And with success, the first two beers were a success. The IPA was a hoppy drinking beer of 6.5 ° and the Quadruple with Vanilla was a strong dark beer of 10.5 °. A later light-colored version of the IPA and a first Tripel followed. A really simple recipe, but oh so tasty.
The switch to an automatic Easybrew brew kettle was a big step but much more user-friendly.
Mecheleir has been highly appreciated by family and friends over the last five years. This chapter is certainly not at its end ...
